09月09日讯 国足vs沙特的比赛将于明天开战，而回忆过去中国足球与沙特的恩怨，莫过于1982年世界杯的预选赛。
当时亚洲区仅2个进入世界杯的名额，一共20支队踢预选赛，分4个小组，每个小组第1踢最后的4强赛。中国队在这一阶段击败日本等对手，如愿晋级4强赛。
中国踢完6场积分形势
4强赛中，中国队率先踢完6场比赛（当时没有同时开赛的规定），3胜1平2负积7分（赢球2分）。
此后只剩3场比赛，科威特2-0战胜沙特，2-2战平新西兰，积9分率先晋级世界杯。最后只剩一场比赛，沙特vs新西兰。
面对提前出局的情况，沙特人显然没有认真对待比赛，输了新西兰0-5，而新西兰也凭借5个净胜球，正好追平了中国队，2队需要进行附加赛。
而这时中国队所有的队员全部都已解散回家，根本对这场比赛没有准备，那个年代联系人也很困难，1个月才把人集齐的中国队仓促上阵。
1982年1月10日，世预赛亚大区四强赛附加赛，中国男足在新加坡加冷国家体育场，以1-2负于新西兰队，惨遭淘汰。
